Once-promising writer Morgan Midwood works at his father's furniture store to save up enough money to buy an engagement ring for his high school sweetheart and presumed saving grace. However, when he discovers she's been making a cuckold of him, he enters a tailspin-getting arrested, evicted, and fired in short order-and seems content to move home with his parents and embrace a life of anonymity and failed promise. At the same time, Morgan's carefree, underachieving best friend Nick, who has arguably exacerbated Morgan's troubles, finally decides to take some stock in his own life, championing a revolutionary piece of furnishing for sale in Morgan's father's store. Over the course of a Long Island summer full of love, laughs, heartbreak, and self-discovery, these two friends ride a violent and hilarious wave teeming with women, family, cops, and cons, hoping not to get swallowed under.

All the way around. Very unique physical comedy and poignant dialogue. Found this on the internet and will be telling friends. Geoffrey Arrend from Super Troopers is awesome.
Real movie
I loved the emotion of this funny movie and how close to me it was but then how random everything happened. Pete Campbell from Madmen was totaly halarious and way different then normal. It's weird but very real. I cried a little, no joke. I laughed alot to.
If you have good taste in movies - you will LOVE this film!!!
Wow - I can't believe this is Sean Hartofilis' first film ever! Bravo!!! This is a wonderful story about friendship and late 20's coming of age. The character development if full bodied and the story line surprising and impressive. The movie is as real and witty as CLERKS.... It is as touching and heartwarming as JUNO.... The script is as engrossing and as rich as GOOD WILL HUNTING... The incredible acting (Vincent Katheiser - wow!) is as powerful as GOODFELLOWS...! To the producers and directors....Thank you for making such an excellent film. There IS an audience for quality films like this. Here we are!!
What ever floats your boat
This is a sort of a late coming of age flick with bro banter. The main character Morgan Midwood is a likeable no body who seems to drift from one mishap to the next, not helped by his mischievous friend Nick. Viewers will probably see something in here that relates to people they know in real life or even themselves. The cast and acting are ok and you may spot a few familiar smaller part actors. I've got to say I didn't enjoy this movie but I'm not going to trash it. I think it will appeal to a younger audience. One thing that drew me to try it was the average IMDB rating of 6.7. This was when the voter numbers were 107. Lesson learnt here. Looking a bit deeper at IMDB rating trends I see that a lot of new movies seem to receive a quick flurry of voters that give a rating of 10 out of 10. I could be cynical about this but read on. This artificially elevates the rating average. I know IMDB calculate the average using weighting to try and eliminate vote stuffing but I can't see how this could be guaranteed to work. Provided the movie attracts a reasonable number of voters (lets say over a thousand) then things settle down and the average rating becomes a reasonable indication. Now for my top tip: when evaluating votes. If the Movie hasn't attracted many user ratings (like Beach Pillows with 107 votes) click on the number of votes (107 currently here) and you will see the rating demographic data page. Look at the bar graph. you'll probably see more than one major peak in the voting. Here the highest votes are at 10 so ignore that one. Working up from the rating 1 I would say the first natural peak is at 5. It's very subjective but this tells me that critical viewers on average rate this at 5. One thing's for sure is that that the ratings on this one are all over the place. My rating 4 out of 10 There's an audience for this one but it's not me.
