All About You (2001) Reviews
Finally A Positve Refreshing Movie
Finally! It's about time there was a positive refreshing movie about black people falling in love. It's great to see a movie that doesn't depend on sex, drugs and violence to tell the story. This is a must see for anyone who appreciates a good solid story. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it highly. The lead actress had great screen presence. All the characters were multi-dimensional and interesting. The script was realistic and funny. This is a movie that everyone can relate to. It definitely has all the elements: great script, talented cast and excellent visuals. It kept me entertained the entire time.
A Beautiful Love Story
What a beautiful love story! To see a love story that doesn't contain bed-hopping, drug using, or a litany of four-letter words, is truly refreshing! Nicole (Renee Elise Goldsberry) and Brian (Terron Brooks) are merely two people who grow steadily attracted to each other as they struggle to overcome some personal issues and find their mark, and together, they find it. The music/singing is a plus!!!! The acting is great (Terron Brooks makes me wish for younger days)! I cannot decide which scene is my favorite: the post wedding reception scene when they discover that they are truly attracted to each other and seal it with a kiss, OR the closing scene, when Brian lays it all on the line by dedicating and singing the song "Surprise" to Nicole. Great job !!
The movie was great.
I love this movie.IT Touches the heart, because you see a movie without sex. How can I get the songs in the movie? It is so good to see two young people sit and talk about up building things. The way they were able to feel for each other without words. This movie brought tears to my eyes, and I'm not a baby. It is hard to turn on your TV and fine a movie that can be recommended to your friends. I have been married for 35 years, this movie made me remember the way you would fall in love. How you would look forward to seeing that person. How your heart would pain until they came into sight. This is the way people would grow in love.I also appreciated the way they tried to understand each others background. The way they had something in common, they both lost their mothers. Speaking about the music, it added the right touch. My hat is off to the composer.
Great love story and love songs
This is a well-produced film, with beautiful cast, story and music. Sensual, emotive and clean-cut, the relationship between lead actor and actress really gave me goosebumps. Though the story is typical, the music makes the movies unique. It's quiet, without violence. It's smooth without vulgarity. It shows how most people of color really live without using the stereotypes common to films about African Americans. The usual silliness is absent in this film. The story of boy meets girl unfolds with a very happy, soothing ending. The supporting cast are fresh, funny and entertaining. We need more and more movies like All About You. Thanks to the producers for having the courage to make this beautiful love story. Keep up the good work. We need more love in the world of film.
pretty and charming romance
This is a lovely story set in some beautiful places. The actors playing the leads were very attractive and even though one knows the ending in a romantic comedy, the plots turns were still fun. The only critique I have for it, is that seeing the female lead smoking was extremely unattractive, out of place in such a sweet story. A friend told me about this movie, as she'd really enjoyed it and I have to say I did as well. The actors were actually the singers in the music performances and while the syncing was sometimes obvious, it added to the freshman charm. There was a real affection in the way the actors were lit and photographed.
