Robertico Florentina is a cheeky, but charming crook of Curacao. He earns his money with Bon Bini Bungalows, a so called agency that provides residence for tourists in houses without the permission of the owner. If he, by mistake, cheats a dangerous criminal he has to pay him a lot of money back, but he doesn't have that money so he flees to the Netherlands. When Robertico meets the beautiful Noelle Maduro and discovers that her father Ken Maduro is a rich businessman, he has a plan. If he manages to convince the rich businessman to invest in Bon Bini Bungalows he won't be in trouble anymore. His plan seems to succeed, but gets complicated when Robertico falls in love with Noella. Will he continue his scam or will he follow his heart and be honest for the first time in his life?

Okay, if you know the characters from the series FC Kip
Having watched the sketches of FC Kip in the past years I hoped the movie would have the funny characters and dialogue. Even though the characters were represented, the story was lame and the jokes mediocre at best. If you don't know the characters or understand Dutch, you will have no connection to the movie at all. Nice attempt from Jandino to make a movie based on the success of his series/sketches FC Kip. Sketches that I enjoyed a lot. Perhaps the sketches work as they are short and the stories can pack a punch and deliver. It was nice, but nothing more than that. And that is due to the fact that I know the series FC Kip and the characters. Give it a try, you might enjoy it.
Shockingly bad
Puerile humour is fine but then it has to be funny. This really isn't. I managed almost 40 minutes in the hope it would improve but sadly it remained terrible. Avoid.
Charm only goes so far
This film builds on the personality of the main actor, who enjoyed success with a series of funny sketches set in a fast food restaurant in which he plays several ethnic characters. It was always going to be a challenge to extend short sketches into a feature-length plot. The humor is based on very over the top, some might say offensive, stereotyping applied to most of the characters in the story. It is also pretty specific to the situation of Carribean immigrants in the Netherlands; Non-Dutch viewers might not get all references and consider it decidedly unfunny. On the upside, the main actor in the story is quite charming (in the protagonist role; not so much in the other four roles he plays). The island of Curacao (and its capital Willemstad) are colourfully featured at the start. It is also refreshing that the scenes in the Netherlands are not set in Amsterdam, as always, but in the city of Rotterdam with its more diverse architecture. All in all a mixed bag.
