  • Terribly Boring Flick That Romanticizes Stalking

I think the title of the review pretty much sums up the story. I didn't find either main character likable enough to have empathy for them. And the whole premise is that the girl is supposed to fall in love with a guy that is a persistent stalker just as long as he keeps pushing himself on her in a "romantic" fashion. Not really a great message to send to women.

Spoiler Alert: Tissues are a must we often see love stories played by the most gorgeous actors possible, but not this one. This proves that a captivating story is the essence of making a great film. Furthermore, the film proves that you do not need a stellar cast to make an impact. The most packs a chemistry beyond the cliche's of a typical romance film. It is captivating to the senses and will make a full grown man cry like a five year old. Only a handful of movies in my lifetime has able to make me cry a river. Phenomenal!

Here's why this movie sucked and why you should be discerning of those positive reviews; From the get-go this was going to be a movie of heartbreak and finding love. As it's a Filipino movie, I didn't expect any deep representation of love. The description says that Empoy bonds with Lea through love and kindness but his actions ring him more of a stalker. Crooning in the morning and getting her to eat the food he cooks for her as well as being physically assertive with her. I know it is done by jest but it gives the wrong impression, that Lea is so desperate to be loved that she would take someone in just because he's the only one who's aggressive with his intentions. Really wrong. It was suppose to be sweet. But what I hate about some of the depictions of love in these romance movies is that they always seem to depict 'love' when it's all easy, all flirting and fun and games. The only time he became likeable was during the really really long flashback (this movie relies a lot on flashbacks and memories to gain more background into what is going on). He turned from deadbeat to shaped up man because Lea had been taking care of him when he was dirty and unrecognizable. That was suppose to be the grand reveal. This movie suffers structural issues. There needn't be so much use if flashbacks to create an emotional connection. The 'love' between them would have been more emotionally impactful and he would seem less predatory if this was shown in the beginning as a build up. So much left to be desired.

  • I will never forget this movie.

This is not a perfect movie. But everything is special, the cinematography is kind unusual but beautiful. The lead characters are not the usual leads you can see in a typical Filipino romantic- comedy. The poetry type of telling of the characters experience is witty and beautiful. Everything is humorous and all the funny parts are done naturally. Until Empoy (male lead) became too creepy for me, no matter how touching the story is, we can't take away the truth that he is a a stalker. I actually lost my interest when I realized this in the last quarter of the movie. Until.. Until.. the ending. I expected so much in this movie with all the tweets and Facebook posts I read that's why I was questioning myself, where's the part everyone is posting about, where's the part where I should cry because except of the fun feeling, the part where the male lead character died didn't even moved me. And out of nowhere, I grab tissues from my bag because the tears are about to flow, I can't help it anymore. That ending part made me realized that it doesn't matter if he actually stalked her.. the important thing is that she loves him, but he left her, and she'd rather choose to be blind again so that she can see him. I cried like baby. and hours after the movie, even days after the movie it still hurts deep inside me. I watched to many movies before but never, never did I experience something like that in an ending part. That ending scene is very emotional and very meaningful. The symbolism of what she did didn't throw away the need of crying or shouting to move people. *clap *clap *clap I'm praying for more movies like this in the future.

I was captivated by the trailer alone since the two of them are a great actor and actress. This movie is not fantasy but can happen in real life. In the trailer, you can see that it is romantic comedy and not pure drama but when you actually watched the scene where Lea (Alessandra De Rossi) is now having a vision and she saw Tonyo (Empoy Marquez), it will break your heart as if it was torn apart without your consent and starting to make you cry. It was an unexpected twist in the movie that is difficult to guess. For me the lesson that I have learned watching this movie is that there will always be someone better when the person you loved the most leaves you. The Ost is amazing and it is perfectly matched in every scenes. Every time you will hear the song 'Two less lonely people in the world' which was always played in the radio, it will always remind you the movie kita kita which represents that this movie captivates the hearts of the viewers and will not easily be forgotten. Kudos to the writer and the director especially the casts of this movie. You made the whole nation proud and Congratulations.
