Holy cow! A grand slam!
I've been a baseball fan for years, and PlayByPlayMen and the Art of the Perfect Call is been what I've wanted to see for as far back as I can remember. Some of the interviews with the major league play-by-play-men were shot right in the major league stadium announcers' booths, so it's a real insider's look into how they call games. And there are tons of famous calls from famous games to see and hear. There's even a recording of a personal call from President Ronald Reagan to Harry Carey congratulating him on his career. There's nostalgic play-by-play-calls as well as modern day ones, and the major league announcers tell you just how they make the magic happen for the viewing and listening fans. A grand slam!

Watching the film I felt like I got to see a glimpse of their lives, their passions, and what makes them who they are. The film is full of fun - lots of interesting background info and lots of great shots of the announcers, players, the stadiums, and the fans. There was some history of baseball, great descriptions of why these guys love the game, how they got involved in the sport, their favorite players, memorable moments, and lots and lots of anecdotes.
