Art-house horror bore
THE ABSTRACTION is one of those art-house bores that attempts to tackle the horror genre to no good effect. It's one of those low key outings which remains ambiguous from beginning to end and the only explicit horror content is right at the climax. Otherwise it's a dull thing about a guy who undergoes a house stay and suffers a psychological breakdown at the same time. It's truly yawn-worthy, the rubbish direction being the worst offender.
